  Arne experienced just that. His dream was a Manta B with extreme Mantzel widebody construction – a brutal timepiece from the eighties. For fifteen years he couldn't let go of the thought of this car. He went through missed opportunities, setbacks and a nerve-wracking race against time. The fact that this Manta now graces the cover of this issue proves one thing: true passion often requires long endurance.

  But the path to an automotive legend doesn't always start in a garage or on eBay. Sometimes it begins in a Frankfurt allotment garden. There, where the giant rear wing of the Steinmetz Commodore "Jumbo" served for years as a shelf for flower pots, one of the most spectacular rescue operations in Opel history began.

  Oliver Steinmetz dared the impossible and brought this lost motorsport giant back to the track. When the 6.0-liter V8 engine once again makes the asphalt shake, it is about much more than a technical reconstruction – it is the comeback of a legend that almost disappeared among the geraniums and radishes.

  But it's not always the big names that drive the industry forward. Often it's about the pure fascination with the craft itself.

  Malcolm transformed a used car for 180 euros into a precise slalom tool. His Kadett E GSi is the result of uncompromising development – and at the same time the basis for his own professional journey: from mechanic to future master of mechatronics. Built with every screw, every improvement and the goal of creating an uncompromising competition car from a simple starting point.

  What ties all these stories together isn't just the lightning bolt in the grill. It's the conviction to take matters into your own hands – whether saving a lost motorsport icon or rebuilding an everyday classic for the slalom course.
